KUHL'S GECKO
SCIENTIFIC NAME :- Ptychozoon Kuhli
OCCURRENCE :- Indonesia , Borneo , S.E.Asia
HABITAT :- Forest
SIZE :- Length 15 cm
FAMILY :- Gekkonaidae
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS :-
- It has a flattened head and a body covered with soft skin containing many minute scales.
- The enormous eyes have permanently fused transparent eyelids.
- Also , there are fringes of skin along the side of the head limbs , body and tail and webs between the toes which extend and act like a parachute when it jumps from one tree to another.
- The gecko presses the skin flap on the branch while resting , thus removing any shadows and camouflaging itself from its enemies or preys.
- It feeds on basically insects like spiders , beetles etc.
- The female lays eggs coated with a sticky substance so that they stick to each other and the branch.
- They are soft when laid and harden when with exposure to air.
